About me

My name is Becky and as a naturally calm, kind, empathetic person who always preferred listening to talking I had thought about becoming a counsellor many times. There always seemed to be a reason not to do it though, feeling I was too young, finding the time and the money to train, fear of starting again in a new career etc.
Then back in 2020 I got diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Suddenly all those reasons for not doing what I really wanted to do didn’t matter, and after recovering from treatment I started training. Now 5 years later here I am, a newly qualified person-centred counsellor.

I have worked for an NHS service for the past 15 years in a non-clinical management role (and continue to do so alongside counselling). I am passionate about the environment and wildlife, I love animals and my two cats are incredibly important to me. I am also a keen traveller and enjoy exploring the world.

I went into counselling because I want to help people deal with the ups and downs of life and be able to live their best lives. I believe in treating each person as an individual and I will work with you to meet your needs, ultimately I believe in you and want you to feel better about yourself and succeed in whatever you want to succeed in.
